Favourable natural conditions (strong stable wind, relatively shallow depth in a large area of the exclusive economic zone) give Poland a chance to develop offshore wind energy.

The Industrial Development Agency, for the purposes of offshore wind farm construction activities, has established the Baltic Industrial Group (GPB), which will manufacture: smaller towers for offshore wind farms and offshore substations. GPB can also be a subcontractor for service and installation vessels for offshore wind farms (in cooperation with other shipyards) and a manufacturer of steel equipment.
