Date of posting: 2021-09-30

The Industrial Development Agency through the Open Innovation Network (Sieć Otwartych Innowacji), which it owns, invites micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to apply for a partial reimbursement of costs of purchase of a licence or property rights to an innovative technology under the POIR competition. Entrepreneurs can obtain funding up to a maximum of 200,000 euros. The competition lasts from 8 October to 15 December.

- This is already the fifth contest carried out by the Open Innovation Network. More than 360 companies applied to the previous four editions, out of which 108 have so far received funding for a total amount of over PLN 38 million. This shows how important public support is from such an institution as the Industrial Development Agency, which has been helping companies to develop for 30 years. It is thanks to funds obtained in Open Innovation Network competitions that companies have implemented new or significantly improved production or delivery methods, which in a short time resulted in lowering production unit costs, eliminating bottlenecks or increasing the quality of provided services. The introduction of innovations to enterprises has translated not only into an increase in the volume of production, and consequently sales, but also into the overall development of companies. We also know many cases of companies entering foreign markets – said Paweł Kolczyński, vice-president of IDA JSC.

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises may apply for co-financing of the purchase of intangible assets of innovative nature such as: patents or patent applications, utility designs or applications for utility models, industrial designs or applications for industrial designs, copyrights to software (excluding programs for administrative activities, e.g. office software, accounting software, operating systems for personal computers, etc.), rights to protected plant varieties, topography of integrated circuits, know-how

The minimum co-financing is PLN 150,000.00 and the maximum is EUR 200,000.00. Companies can be reimbursed up to 70% of eligible expenses. The grant may be granted under the regional investment aid or de minimis aid.

- In the Open Innovation Network we make sure that every company that contacts us, whether it wants to sell its technology (technology donor) or is interested in purchasing it (technology recipient), can cooperate with a technology broker. The task of such a person is to support the technology recipient in correct filing of an application. The broker also takes part in talks between companies, the one selling and the one buying technology, and makes sure the transaction is closed correctly – said Bartosz Sokoliński, managing director of IDA JSC.
