Baltic Industrial Group's new strategy - going for offshore!

The Industrial Development Agency (ARP) is embarking on a new phase in the Group's transformation to strengthen its position in the offshore wind energy sector. Based on the approved strategy, ARP will equip the Baltic Industrial Group Sp. z o.o. with the assets necessary to become a leading player in this promising growth sector. Funds will be provided to make the necessary investments and strengthen the Company's working capital. In implementing the strategy, ARP S.A. will also contribute the real estate needed for GPB to operate efficiently.

In order to implement the new strategy, a new management board will be appointed at GPB:

  1. Adam Kowalski - President of the Management Board

A graduate of Poznan University of Technology with a PhD in technical sciences, he completed an Executive MBA course in Offshore Wind Industry at Gdynia Maritime University. He is a manager with over 22 years of experience in business management. Since November 2019, he has been Deputy CEO at Dajin Heavy Industry Europe, where he is responsible, among other things, for developing the strategy for offshore foundations and wind towers, including the business concept and operational plan, aligned with the key market players. From 2017 to 2019, he was Vice President of the Management Board of ST3-Offshore Sp. z o.o. (being restructured), responsible for overseeing the restructuring process and day-to-day operational activities in the areas of: health & safety, production, technology, engineering, quality, maintenance and infrastructure, logistics, investments (CAPEX) and project management. From 2012 to 2017, he was Vice President of the Gdansk Shipyard Group, responsible for design and production for the offshore industry, including Oil &Gas and wind power. He was responsible for the operational activities of the entire industrial group.

  1. Magdalena Czuba-Wąsowska - Vice-President of the Management Board for legal and corporate affairs

Doctor of Law at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University, university lecturer from 2005 to 2023, author of scientific publications, lawyer, manager.
Since October 2023, she has been Vice President of the Management Board of Energomontaż-Północ Gdynia S.A. She is the Chairwoman of the Audit Committee of the Polish Offshore Wind Energy Chamber. She is experienced in managing projects of high organisational and legal complexity, including with international entities.
She specialises in regulatory, contractual and corporate matters as well as European and administrative law. She has several years of experience in advising on energy law, public aid and infrastructure projects.

  1. Przemysław Szewczyk - Vice President of the Management Board for Audit and Control

Graduate of the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź and postgraduate course at the National Defence Academy in the field of National Security, completed the Academy of Managerial Competencies at the Leon Koźmiński Academy in Warsaw. Manager with many years of experience in managerial and supervisory positions in State Treasury companies and administration, also in the area of audit and control. As a director and member of the College of the Supreme Audit Office, he managed teams preparing and supervising sensitive inspections of the functioning of the state and cooperating with parliamentary committees in this area. He participated in the implementation of projects concerning the activities of the entire organisation, including planning processes, risks and human capital management.

  1. Marcin Jackowicz - Member of the Supervisory Board temporarily delegated to act as Vice-President.

A graduate of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw and the Warsaw School of Economics, where he earned a master's degree in finance and accounting. An expert in corporate finance, with over 10 years of professional experience gained in venture capital and private equity funds, where he was responsible for value creation of portfolio companies and corporate governance, also sitting on supervisory boards. In 2021, he joined the structures of the Industrial Development Agency (ARP) S.A., where he is responsible for the supervision of companies subordinate to ARP, including the Baltic Industrial Group Sp. z o.o. In 2022, he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of GPB, where he serves as its Chairman. At the same time, since January 2023, in the position of Chief Financial Officer, he has been responsible for the finances of Baltic Towers sp. z o.o., a company implementing a project to build an offshore wind tower factory in Gdańsk.

Resolutions were also passed to dismiss from their positions the current members of the Company's Management Board: Henryk Ogryczak, acting as President of the Management Board, and Marek Gorzelewski, acting as Vice President of the Management Board for Finance. The resolutions came into force upon their adoption.
