ARP supports the Worldskills initiative as a strategic partner of SkillsPoland 2022
WorldSkills Poland is an initiative that encourages young people to improve their professional skills through the prestigious international competitions WorldSkills and EuroSkills. These are the largest competitions of this kind in the world, known as the Olympics of Industrial Professions.
The goal of the competition is to encourage young people to improve the quality of their professional skills in close cooperation with employers and to promote the latest solutions in vocational education. The initiative also provides a unique opportunity to share experiences and best practises, promote successes, establish contacts, and build partnerships between companies and the education sector.
More than 20 competitions were held at the event in Gdansk on November 23-25:
- landscape architecture, BIM/digital construction, CNC milling sanitary and heating installations, electrical installations,
- Integration of industrial robots, furniture construction, agricultural and construction machinery mechanics, mechatronics,
- welding, industry 4.0, carpentry, mechatronics,
- hotel and restaurant industry, bakery, restaurant service,
- fashion technology, beauty care, confectionery,
- floristry, hairdressing, and cooking,
More than 200 participants (including foreign guests) took part in the competition, which was judged by about 100 jurors from Poland and abroad.

As part of the event, we held a workshop for teachers at vocational schools, 'Personnel for Industry' during which we presented the opportunities that ARP S.A and companies of our Capital Group offer to their students.
Participants were familiarised with our original programmes for the development of professional skills, including ‘Personnel for Industry'. The aim of this project is to establish long-term cooperation between ARP Capital Group companies and the education sector (technical and vocational schools and vocational training centres) through the involvement of ARP Capital Group companies, e.g. in internship programmes, company visits, open days, specialised classes, mentoring classes and professional internships.
During the workshop, special attention was also paid to our projects in the space sector, e.g. the Polish Space Fellowship Programme or the ARP Space Academy, initiatives providing development opportunities in space companies.
We also had the opportunity to present programmes and initiatives for young people implemented in our companies. Among others:
- Driver's licence courses in the training centres of the company Pol-Regio
- A master-apprentice mentoring programme with experienced employees of the WSK company
-Apprenticeships for third grade students at the WSK Technical School of Electronics and Mechanics
- Training centre for welders at FPS
- Initiatives and recruitment at PIAP Space
- Baltic Development Academy at the Baltic Operator Training Group
- Training centre for welders, welding course at Energop
As part of the programme, ARP prepared a panel discussion on the main stage on the topic "The most sought-after professions in the face of current social and economic challenges”. The aim was to highlight the innovative industries in which young people can develop in professions as welders, metalworkers, or millers alongside their peers in the fields of Industry 4.0, robotics and automation.
The panel, chaired by Alice Neffe, Global Affairs Director of ARP S.A., included:

"It's a great experience and a lot of fun," says Przemyslaw Szymkowicz, who is participating in the sanitary engineering competition.
"I am here to prove myself and try to represent Poland in this category at EuroSkills 2023. I think it's worth taking part in such competitions because you can develop yourself and show others what you can do. You can make a name for yourself on the market and find a good job," says Szymon Krawczyk, who is participating in the BIM digital construction competition.
"There are a lot of opportunities in front of you, all kinds of industries and world leaders in these industries like Simens, Festo - all these are opportunities, and it looks very good on CV", say Bartek and Piotrek from the Industry 4.0 competition.
European qualification 2023 in Gdansk - an opportunity for our companies
The host of EuroSkills 2023 will be the city of Gdańsk. Next year, Poland will host the event for the first time. More than 600 of the best competitors from 31 countries will compete in 43 contests in Gdansk. The Industrial Development Agency JSC has established cooperation with EuroSkills and joined the coalition for the organisation of EuroSkills 2023 in Poland.
During the European Business Congress, ARP S.A. Vice President Łukasz Gałczyński signed an agreement with WorldSkills, according to which the Industrial Development Agency JSC will join a coalition of universities and companies for the organisation of EuroSkills 2023 in Poland.
"For years, ARP has been supporting various projects aimed at improving professional skills. One example is the "Personnel for Industry" project, which aims to initiate cooperation between ARP Capital Group companies and vocational schools. In this way, students learn about professions that are currently in demand, which makes it easier for them to decide on their professional development. In return, the companies gain employees. Cooperation with EuroSkills is another step in the development of human resources in Poland," said Łukasz Gałczyński, Vice President of the Industrial Development Agency.
